We are the Egoz Foundation – a non-profit organisation of former members of the Egoz Unit. Our goal is to take care of the unit’s graduates, their families, and Israeli society as a whole. With us, every graduate of the unit gets the opportunity to reach his maximum potential.
Why Do We Do This?
We believe that a strong society is built from strong individuals, and that’s exactly what the graduates of the Egoz Unit are: determined and value-driven leaders, mission-focused, purposeful, and highly capable. Good people who become excellent citizens. Excellent citizens are the most influential factor on the immediate and broader community and society as a whole. Therefore, our mission is to create through our graduates a strong, caring, humane, and moral society. A society you can rely on whenever needed.

The Egoz Unit was established in 1995, named after the legendary “Egoz” reconnaissance unit. It was created to revolutionise the IDF’s capabilities against the terrorist organisation “Hezbollah” and to decisively defeat the enemy in every encounter. To this day, Egoz specialises in guerrilla warfare, bringing its unique capabilities to bear in order to defeat any enemy anywhere. The essence of Egoz’s spirit is embodied in the unit’s motto: “I will pursue my enemies and overtake them, and I will not turn back until they are destroyed.”
Egoz specialises in close-range combat, in complex terrain, fieldcraft, camouflage, and small-unit warfare – short-range combat where the quality and professionalism of the warrior are the main components of success. The unit operates at all times, in all arenas, and in all sectors, and always wins!
